SUMMARY:DIY History Games for Families
DESCRIPTION:Crickets Corner Toys and Kites is pleased to announce their sponsorship of family programs presented at the Historical Society of Wells and Ogunquit (HSWO). It is especially for families to drop in and "jump back into time together" with old fashioned games\, projects and crafts. The toy and camera shop\, located in a 19th century building on the corner of Shore Road and Wharf Lane\, is part of the historic fabric of what was once called\, Ogunquit Village. \n\n\n\nThe Historical Society is grateful to Crickets for their generous support and happy to create new community partnerships. Due to expanded hours\, the organization now offers Saturdays as a "playdate" for families with young children to drop in anytime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The cost for DIY History Games is $5.00 per family and all proceeds benefit the HSWO and Meetinghouse Museum. Families have fun together as they learn about what Colonial and Victorian era children through their play\; whirligigs\, tops\, stacking blocks\, puzzles. Especially nice is the setting in 1862 building with beautiful light-filled space in the Gothic Revival style and historic original features. Also available are free Meetinghouse Museum Tours to lead visitors of all ages on a fun and educational view of their collection of artifacts from local families\, fishermen\, farms and businesses.
