SUMMARY:Patriots Day Celebration 2021/Splash into Spring
DESCRIPTION:Spring is definitely in the air and we are all starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel!\n\n \n\nWe will be kicking off the 2021 season with a reimagined version of our annual Patriot's Day Celebration. Much like we reimagined Fall for Ogunquit/OgunquitFest in 2020\, we are extending the celebration into a longer two week celebration to allow for more flexibilty and opportunity to visit our Beautiful Place by the Sea this spring.\n\n\n\nOur "Splash into Spring" celebration will feature events from April 16th-May 2nd. \n\n \n\nAlthough we have had to cancel our signature craft fair at the beach\, we have reinvented some of the other traditional Patriot's Day events and created some new ones.\n\n \n\nHere is just a sampling of some of the events we have planned:\n\n \n\nAnnual Patriotic Pooch Pageant\n\nFife & Drum Concert and Junior Corp\n\nScavenger Hunt\n\nCaricature Artist\n\nKite Making Craft for Kids\n\nSand Drawing Demos on the Beach\n\nHuman Statues\n\nSide Walk Sales\nSCHEDULE OF EVENTS\n\nClick Here for a printable version.\n\n\n\nOngoing\n\n\n\nSidewalk Sales\n\nBrowse our many unique shops and boutiques and get in some much needed retail therapy. Sidewalk sales will be going on throughout the whole month.\n\n\n\nApril Showers Bring May Flowers Scavenger Hunt\n\nFollow the clues and solve the puzzle. Stay tuned for more details.\n\n\n\nApril 17th\n\nCaricature Artist 11am-2pm (Veteran's Park)\n\nocal caricature artist Michael Lynch will be back to draw your funny side. Look for him in Veteran's Park\, located in the center of Ogunquit\, next to the Front Porch. Free to the public! \n\nDUE TO RAIN...MOVED TO SUNDAY\, APRIL 18th 11am-2pm.\n\n\n\nPatriotic Fife & Drum Duo 2pm (Rotary Park\, Perkins Cove)\n\nFeeling patriotic? Join us in Perkins Cove and enjoy the performance of the fife & drum duo. Performance will last approximately 50 mins.\n\n\n\nApril 18th\n\nPatriotic Pooch Pageant & Meet Miss Maine 12pm-1:30pm (registration begins at 11:30am)\n\nParking lot of Liquid Dreams Surf Shop\, 696 Main Street\, Ogunquit\n\nDress your dog in costume or just come to watch the show! Two costume categories: Most Patriotic Pup & Favorite American.\n\nPrizes will be awarded for the best costumes in each category. Free to enter. Weather permitting.\n\nCome meet Miss Maine who will be one of our judges! \n\n\n\nPiscataqua Rangers Jr. Fife & Drum Corps Performance 2pm (Old Village School\, located next to the Dunaway Center on School Street)\n\nJoin us at the Old Village School to relax and enjoy the sounds as the Piscataqua Rangers perform.\n\nPerformance will last about 40 mins.\n\n\n\nApril 24th\n\nBeach Cleanup 10am on Ogunquit Beach\n\nJoin Blue Ocean Society and the Rotary Club of Ogunquit to help keep Ogunquit Beach clean.\n\n\n\nCaricature Artist 11am-2pm (Rotary Park\, Perkins Cove)\n\nLocal caricature artist Michael Lynch will be back to bring out the humorous side in all of us.\n\nLook for him in Rotary Park\, which is located in Perkins Cove. Social distancing guidelines will be followed. \n\n\n\nMay 1st\n\nHuman Statue\n\nBe on the look out for the person pretending to be a statue. You never know where he or she is going to pop up!\n\n\n\nSand Drawing Lessons with Sebastian 11am-2:30pm at Main Beach\n\nSand drawing with Sebastian is back! Join Sebastian Privitera as he shows you how to make beautiful large-scale drawings in the sand. Each class is 30 minutes long\, and rakes will be provided.\n\nThis event is free\, but classes are limited to 5 people per half hour\, so sign up early!
