Cooking Class: Gluten Free Cooking
This class is held in the Arrowheads Estate kitchens. Please wear nonslip shoes & clothes which you may stain. Participants will be provided with an apron and all tools necessary for the class. After the hands-on portion, the class will adjourn to the dining room for a family style meal. Menu: New England Clam Chowder Buttermilk Fried Chicken: Hot Honey, Sweet Pickles, Strawberry Shortcake: Fresh Strawberries, GF Buttermilk Biscuits, Brown Sugar Whipped Cream Taught by Chef Ben Thompson: With a passion for the culinary arts and a love of history, Ben has a flair for creating international foods that feature a classic New England spin. Raised in Newmarket, New Hampshire, he has worked for several well-respected restaurants in the Seacoast region. He was the Executive Chef Instructor at Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School, kitchen manager for the Sakurabana Japanese Restaurant in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and the sous chef under Chef Walter Leffler, a several-times James Beard House host. As a singer for a band and an avid sports fan, Ben approaches teaching with a fun, conversational style and an appreciation for guest participation.
