Gabby Gathering - Lacemaking
Angela Pollino will present a brief history on Tombolo lacemaking from Italy, show some of her creations and give a demonstration. Angela has lived in Ogunquit for over 30 years. She was born in a small-town North of the Naples Italy where at the age of 8 years old she learned the art of Tombolo Lace and has been doing it ever since. At 86 years young she is still going strong and hand making beautiful lace designs. Over the last year and a half, she has not only woven the Ogunquit Memorial Library, but also created a representation of the White House and the Flavian Amphitheater “Colosseum” in Rome, Italy. In February 2018 The Weekly Sentinel (volume 14) did an article on her piece of the “Twin Towers and Statue of Liberty”. This piece is now located at the 9/11 Museum in New York City.
