Photographing Climate Change: Images and Conversations About a Changing World
Climate change is one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues. It's also one the gravest human rights issues. Photojournalist Greta Rybus has been exploring the issue of climate change by documenting the lives of people around the world and learning about how a changing environment has impacted livelihoods in desert, tropic, and Arctic communities. She will share images and conversations from the field, and stories that work to humanize climate data. Rybus is based in Portland, but spends a month of each year in a new place documenting the ways climate change impacts different communities. Her presentation is part of the Ted Exford Climate Stewards Lecture series with support provided by Dave & Loretta (Exford) Hoglund.
